What we take responsibility for
Energy management in daily operations
We establish or develop your energy management system (EnMS): roles, energy policy, objectives, action plans and working routines. We can take on the energy management representative role, coordinate energy working groups and maintain documentation, responsibilities and deadlines.
ISO 50001, audits & management reviews
We support energy reviews, energy performance indicators (EnPIs), baselines and evidence of improvement. We prepare and support internal audits, management reviews and external certification, surveillance and recertification audits. Certification is performed by an independent certification body.
Target agreements & annual monitoring
We support new and renewed Swiss target agreements, including EnAW processes and cantonal target agreements (KZV). We define site boundaries, assemble baseline and potential analyses, assess measures, prepare monitoring and coordinate clarifications with the relevant bodies.
Energy data, metering & reporting
We develop metering and reporting concepts around your existing meters and building management systems. We check completeness and plausibility, investigate unusual consumption and interpret monthly or quarterly indicators for operations and management.
Measures, savings & funding evidence
We maintain measure lists, check savings calculations and track implementation, effects and supporting evidence. Our work includes standardized calculation tools, methods for non-standard measures and ongoing reporting for funding programmes. Programme eligibility and attribution are checked for each project.
Energy budgets & procurement support
We prepare budgets for electricity, heat, gas and cooling using consumption, prices and planned operational changes. We support procurement methods and scenarios, including structured electricity purchasing in tranches; purchasing decisions remain with the client.

From energy data to defensible results
A useful report explains what changed, why it changed and what action follows. We connect the data basis with the technical and operational context.
Define the boundaries
Clarify sites, meters, purchased energy, internal flows and significant energy uses. Check units, conversion factors and consistent treatment of gas calorific values. Identify data gaps and distinguish measurements from calculations and estimates.
Make periods comparable
Choose suitable baselines and indicators. Where relevant, account for weather, production or service activity and changes in buildings and equipment. A reduction in activity is not automatically an efficiency improvement.
Document the effect
Record the measure, calculation method, assumptions, implementation date and evidence. Consider interactions between measures and separate physical energy savings, weighted target indicators and CO₂ effects. Check funding attribution and avoid double counting.
The result is a traceable basis for operational decisions, management reviews, target monitoring and funding reports. Higher total consumption can still coincide with better efficiency if production or service activity has increased.
Target agreements that stay connected to operations
A target agreement needs a credible technical basis and consistent follow-up. Our EnAW work connects the initial assessment with the annual monitoring cycle and the people responsible on site.

We assess the applicable route for large-consumer requirements and, where relevant, CO₂ levy exemption or grid surcharge reimbursement. Eligibility, obligations and the interaction with support programmes are established for the specific company and project.

At one of Switzerland’s largest hospitals, our team helped introduce ISO 50001 and has supported the energy management system over many years. This experience spans the initial system and calculation tools through ongoing energy reviews, audits, reporting and operational coordination.

Practical questions about energy management
Do we need ISO 50001 certification?
An EnMS can deliver value with or without certification. We tailor the scope to your objectives, existing processes and applicable requirements. If certification is the goal, we help prepare the organization and evidence for the independent audit.
Can you take over an existing system?
Yes. We first review documentation, indicators, commitments, open measures and upcoming deadlines. We then agree responsibilities and a realistic handover, using existing systems and data wherever practical.
How does this differ from an energy analysis?
Our energy analysis examines processes, heat recovery and building services to identify and calculate technical savings.
